“A little Ditty by Darlene A. Ramsey” an Ironbride from

Season 1. !!!!!!!

Inspired, educated, positive, relentless and fearless…. And the beat goes on…I am an Iron bride!!!

In this experiment of life I have been going through…..

I have learned that I can do something and finish it.

My growth will continue because it feels too good not too!!!!

I have been inspired.  Something that has not been done

in years for me.  My life was boring, the same old, same old..

Now, I know I can try anything .  Fail or succeed but i will know

that I tried.  What a good feeling.  I am cleansed of all my negative

thoughts.  My soul is open and my heart is warm again.

I am committing to staying p0sitive, helping others feel as good

as I do.  If I were to win Powerball tonight everyone I knew that

helped me and that didn’t even know they helped me would all

be helped.  Even the people I don’t know .  I would want

them to feel like I do every day.  I know, money can’t buy happiness

but it sure does help when you need a warm house or some

clothing to wear.  I know my family and Fiance’ are really

proud of me. They just knew I would do something wonderful.

Of course they also knew that I was meant to be on a tv show.

I think they are looking for some drama or comedy that I don’t

think this show will be about. But hey, I sure will try.  Because

that is what I am .  Funny and excited.  So, I am willing

to change alot about my life.  Keeping the happy face on.

knowing tomorrow is a better day.  Today is a learning

curb and I am ALWAYS loved.  That will forever be with me.

I also know that I will not be so good when this show is over

and I don’t get my Excellent Limo drive… The Limo Drivers have

all been great to us and I want to Thank them for being

there to keep us safe!!!  Tricia, Jennifer, Amy, Nicole,

Kylin, Vania and Tarryn, you inspire me.  With all your

wonderful careers.  Your drive for success and dedication to

this show and your families and friends.  Inspire me each

and every day.  I thank you for giving me a new life.

To you and your new lives as married ladies I wish you well.

Happiness and Joy forever and ever!!!!

This is not the end but the beginning of something wonderful!!!!

From a caterpillar to a butterfly… I have evolved. I say Thank You Ironbrides and all you have given me!!!

In the words of a sceptic to the eyes of my believers….

I have changed and for the better. Not only have I overcome

a severe Anxiety and stress disorder but I gained a new

family of friends and people I so hope to keep in touch with

in the future long after the show is done. My personal life

has been a lot better because I have been given the tools

to deal with stress or anger in a way that gives a positive

direction instead of a negative direction. That is called

the “cup is now half full” revolution. My growth on this

show is so amazing to me that I would only hope the next

seasons to come will appreciate the opportunities the show

is giving them. And embrace it. Learn from it. Take it home

and hug it…. As I have. So I say Thank you and not good bye

I say See you soon not good bye. You have inspired me to be

a better person. I have strength I never thought I had. I

have hope that seemed hopeless. My life is forever changed

and for that TODAY I am proud, proud to be an “Iron Bride”!!

In the end of our Journey I must say thanks to the Radisson of

Nashua, the BaySide Sheraton of Portsmouth and the Holiday Inn

of Concord for there Tremendous care they took of us.

The great meals and Wonderful Staff to assist us when we

forgot our outfits for the next adventure and had to open

that locked door more than once and did it with a smile.

The great Cooking lessons we received by our Terrific Chef’s

Chez Boucher French Cooking School in Hampton, NH. and to

and Chef Nonnis Italian Eatery at the Holiday Inn in Concord, NH.

To our Wonderful Photographers of www.StudioMarkemile.com

Mark and Betsy . I cannot forget “Hello” the one and only

famous “Fine European Pastries Jacques” for there great

cakes and fun party favors. Then we had Nazzy Entertainment

play at our Christmas party and let me tell you girls he is your

man for weddings , etc. After eating all that great food we must

thank John Dye’s “Sole Training” for keeping us in shape.

Mostly I would like to mention our life coach Helen Who has

inspired me to be me and take on life challenges as they come

with an iron fist and a warm heart. Get it “Iron bride” she has been

a great inspiration to all of us and mostly me. How can I forget

the cast and crew who gave me a voice, loved me even when

they didn’t know me, showed me the true meaning of life and

yet never blinked an eye doing it. This was all part of our

discovery of who we are as people, groups and family.

I am sad to see it end but excited to see it begin. I will

continue to keep intouch with all of you , yes you too George!!

Joann you are a wonderful and beautiful woman who is a great

asset to this company. Jeff I see an amazing , smart man who is

a survivor. Who is intuitive and just as kind and loving as you

would want a Director to be. I thank you for our talks and all

you have taught me. George, you have a vision and One that

has made us all come together. I know what you have been

shooting for this whole show and we get it. Thank you for caring.

To Dave and is super cute son with the carrot top , I will

miss your smiles and giggling when I am on camera making

a funny. You so get me. Keep in touch and hey we still

have our week together….. Are you ready for me. I have been

taking alot of Vitamins. Hehehehehe:) Lucky you……

So, I end this with one word, (Joann this is for you)

“CONTENT”…… Much Peace and love…. Darlene

September 6, 2009 imagine it, you’re on the beach and just said your vows, what’s next you ask? I jump in the water and dunk my new husband !! Hehehehe now that’s a good feeling:)

The planning of my wedding has been so far to date

relatively easy.  My fiance, Pat and I agree on what we

want.  We want elegant, but fun.  Sunset and warm, aqua

and ivory.  Warm beach sand with sounds of seagulls

in the wind.  Bare feet and rolled up pants.  Sensual yet

silly.  Making due without Harry Conick, Jr. singing at my wedding:(…

The bride , that is me, wearing a long, flowy ivory dress that so

makes her look like a sexy superstar and of

course with no shoes..  The groom in  ivory

banana Republic cotton pants , rolled up.  Aqua belt and a sea shell

neck band.   Both tan and accompanied by our most

important family and friends.  Saying our vows as the sunsets.

Lots and lots of orchards and Roses .  Tiki torches and two really huge

Hawaii born bouncers at both ends of the arch.   Ahh, now that

sounds like a day to remember.   Now, the ceremony is over and off

to the reception. We choose to call it a cocktail party with great food

and drinks to accompany the theme of the Beach and the Sea.

Everyone dancing the night away and feeling the love in the air.

The warm sea breeze on there neck and the full moon looking down

on them and giving them the energy of love.   To me in one word the

day is ” Serenity”.  Sweet, Serenity.  I’m in love and married.  Forever

to be complete.  Now that the day is done.  The bellies are full, the

feet are sore from getting there dance on.  Night time is falling on us

and sleep is needed.   The next morning we wake to a gorgeous day of

sun and fun at the beach.  My husband and I take everyone to a

brunch at the York Harbor Inn .  Share our stories of the wedding.

I get to hear how my guests felt at my wedding and how well I did.

They all stated how much fun they had. How nice the day was and

how Pat and I took so much time making sure they were all taken

care of.  But, most of all they all saw the love Pat and I have.  It is a

bond that can’t be broken.  That is what made the perfection of the

day.  That and my two huge Hawaii born bouncers.  LOL:)  just had to

add some fun in.  Now the day has been fun on the beach

and we all wind down to go our seperate ways .  I thank everyone and

tell them how much we love them.  What they don’t know is when

they all return home a gift is delivered to them from Pat and I.  It is

a thank you that we wanted to do hoping no one else thought of it.

Just a little something to say, thank you for being in our lives and

fulfilling them with so much love.  It is a catered dinner from a

local catering company.  So, they can relax, enjoy and not have

to worry about making dinner for the kids or themselves or cleaning

up.  And last but not least in each of there bedrooms is a bottle

of Crystal Champaign with Rose pedals throughout the room .

Little Chocolate boxes from Jacques Fine European Pasteries which

is located on 128 Main street in Suncook, NH.  being fed to them

in there beds by ” my big Hawaii born bouncers” hahahahahaha!!!

Enjoy and most of all be good to one an other .  We all deserve love and

happiness….. Goodnight all..

A new me via Ironbrides!!

Okay here’s the thing. Recently, I realized I do complain

alot and I have alot to complain about. But, who doesn’t.

I have needed a reality check for a while. Taking the

negative and making it into a positive. It isn’t as easy

as you think. We have been asked to wear these bracelets

to be “21 days complaint free”. Let me tell you, that is not

easy at all. I look like a person with a severe anxiety problem

constantly changing my bracelet from wrist to wrist. But, it

has given me such clarity on how much negativity I am giving out

to people. So, I have decided to be the “glass is half full” girl.

It has been challenging but rewarding , oh so much more

rewarding than I could ever think. This has impacted my friends,

my children, my fiance’ and myself in such a way that I have

a hard time believing this is my life. When you think positive

you give this energy about you that everyone wants to have .

Which in turn makes people want to be around you and do things for

you and with you. For instance, Eventhough I have been struggling

financially, I have come to terms with my abilities to pay certain

bills when I can. That is just that. Then suddenly something

wonderful happens and a friend offers to take you out for lunch.

Your hairdresser, without embarrassment lets you get your hair done

so when you are on TV you don’t have to actually look like the oldest

bride by showing your gray hairs . So, I pay her at a later date

when my pocketbook lets me. My daughter Ashley is helping

me to workout and get more fit and healthy without even batting

an eyelash just to be with her mom. She asks nothing in return and all

we do is laugh and sweat. I have to say if not for Ironbrides I would

never have known about the 21 day complaint free challenge, I would

not have been given so much of my confidence back and most likely

I would not have been on TV with such a wonderful crew and cast.

I truly am a product of change. With out a doubt my habitual

negative state has been turned to a positive state of living. One I plan

to help others with as well. So, I say thank you Ironbrides and

welcome to my new “Positive, stress free world”. I salute you!!!

“Darlene’s Glass Ceiling” Please read with caution!!

Okay, wow. This one is gonna hurt. I knew one day

I would have to listen to my Therapist and go public

with my horror. She said it will make me feel better

and maybe I will get some positive feedback from people

who have gone through what I have lived my whole life.

So here goes……. What I cannot do because of fear or the

inability to do so that is not a physical challenge.

I grew up in a really dysfunctional family. My parents were the

real deal ALCOHOLICS. They always were out partying and getting

into trouble at bars, my dad mostly. He liked to fight when he got

drunk . He also liked to annoy my mother by flirting with other

women. They always had parties at my house so I really never slept.

That is when they were home. They always went away on trips and

left us with the DRUNK BABYSITTERS!! I can honestly

say that being loved or hugged as a child never happened for me.

My parents chose to beat and abuse me as often as they could. I have

been diagnosed with “post traumatic disorder” which has been defined

by the first day my drunk mother pulled me off the school bus by

my hair and called me a Whore and a dumb “B” word. This all infront

of my friends. I then became withdrawn from life. I didn’t do well

in school and never had many friends. I use to sit in the corner of my

room and cry wondering what I did so bad to be treated this way? I

never thought anyone else was going through the same thing as I was.

I felt like a monster and never told anyone because I already have

been treated so poorly why would anyone care anyway? So, I grew

up angry, unable to love or be loved. Never feeling worthy of even

being here on earth. I have been very successful at covering up how

I truly feel. I have a great outer layer that you see. Well dressed.

Always with makeup and looking put together. But, inside

I’m a train wreck. I have been in therapy for years and to this day

I am still feeling the pain of childhood. I will never feel right.

I have overcome a lot though and am riding the 21 days to be

complaint free train. This is not a complaint it is my reality. I have

been fortunate to be on “Ironbrides” TV. They have shown me that

I am a good person and have the ability to be liked by 7 ++ strangers.

That is pretty cool. This show has given me my life back. I don’t think

they know that. I especially want to thank “Tricia” She is one of

the Ironbrides who does know of my pain and has been so helpful

in me overcoming my anxiety attacks and depression. She may not

even know how much she has touched me. She is the Real Deal Guys!!

I never thought someone would know me so raw and still like me.

That is so cool. She is amazing as is all the girls and the directors…

Jeff, The main director of the show who I just have so much respect

for said to me this past Sunday while we were filming “Darlene if I

didn’t know it I would think you have been hitting the bottle already

today.” I laughed and said not yet it isn’t noon. :) I use my

anxiety in comedy. I get nervous and become a bumbling idiot. I

joke and break out in show toons. Whatever it takes to not feel

weird. I just act it. So, okay Joann, on a better note. There are 3

things I want so desperately to do before I turn 60.

1. I want to figure out this flipping blogging thing so I can put on the

pictures I found that would make all my stories so much more real.

2. I want to open my home s around the world for abused women and there families.

3. I want to be the 1st Ironbride. Yeah baby!!!

21 days to be complaint free by wearing a purple bracelet can you do it?

21 days to be complaint free was created by : Will Bowen : The lead minister of the One community spiritual center in Kansas City, MO.

He had done something amazing that no one else has thought of. Trying to first get his congregation to wear these purple bracelets that will help them to stop complaining. The purpose of this exercise is to see how often you complain by taking the purple bracelet from the left arm to the right arm when you notice that you have complained. It is a known fact that people complain 15-30 times a day. That is incredible if you think about it. Will Bowen has become famous and even appeared on “Oprah”. Something that our Ironbrides strive to do…. Right girls….. Positive thinking will make it happen!!!!! To define to “complain” to express pain, grief or disconnect.” When you do not do this it makes you want to think and talk about what you are grateful for. If you complain about your health, it can make your health worse. Studies show this to be true. Complaining spreads negative energy which cannot create a positive outcome.

In conclusion, your thoughts create your world and your words indicate your thoughts. When you delete complaining in your life your life becomes more enjoyable, you have happier relationships and better health.

So, come on world press take a challenge and go to www.acomplaintfreeworld.org and order your new life in the color purple. You won’t regret it. Good luck and Congrats on your new 2009 outlook on life. I wish you well and best cheers for the New Year!!

Are your pocketbooks empty and you haven’t started Christmas shopping yet? NO worries here are some great ideas to save a buck during the holiday…

To start off your holiday season right and the most

inexpensive you can, you start by becoming your own

best creative director of the gift giving.  That is what I

am calling it this season.  Times are tough, people are

losing jobs or losing money in the stock market, etc. So

we need to be shifty in what we spend our money on.  I have

done pretty good this year saving money and still had a terrific

day with my children and fiance’.  I was shocked to see that with my

immediate family they were more concerned with me cooking them

a great meal and hanging out with mom that presents were not

a big deal.  I am so very proud of my children . They gave me the

greatest gift of love and there time this year.  It really brought back

the traditional Christmas I so craved.  So, here are 4 great ways

to help with your empty pockets…

1.  Instead of using wrapping paper, recycle your shopping bags

from the grocery store.  It is funny to look at but it does the job.

2.  Make a gift from the heart.  Take photo’s from around the house

that you knew one day you’d get to putting them into an album.

Put them in individual albums for each member of the family and

make them there own to each persons personality.  It’s fun to do,

it brings back great memories and always a great gift.

3.   Give gas gift cards.  Everyone needs to get gas and now the prices

are low, they are not expensive and always needed.

4.    Last but not least.  Make a coupon book.  Decorate it as you like

and put things it in like  one great dinner by Darlene.  You can also

Put in it one back massage or I will clean your house for you when

you want, etc.  I did this and I kinda wish I wasn’t to free with

my services.  I’m tired.  LOL:) no really I feel good about it and

it was a big hit with the family.

I hope you enjoy and use my ideas for next year or your next big

holiday.  Please have a save and Merry holiday season.

A traditional Christmas song that brings me great memories!!

In Christmas past I have always loved the song

“Have yourself a merry little Christmas” .  It always

warms my heart and gives me joy to hear it during the

holidays.  Especially this year.  I was watching the

Country Music Station the other day and the song came

on and the Video was so perfect for what I remember Christmas

to be.  Home with family and friends.  Lots of love and a long chain of

family members from 1year old to 100 years old.  The video was  from

MCA Records and the album it came off of was “Let there be peace

on earth”.  The song is sung by Vince Gill and WOW he nailed it.

I miss the way things were when families were more relaxed and

loving.  Taking care of one an other and giving what we give best….

Our love.  So, for this gal the holidays don’t give me much pleasure

but when I hear this song it always makes me remember the good

old days.

Darlene’s holiday brownie delight!!

Ingredients:

white chocolate pudding (instant)

skim milk

brownie mix

eggs

oil

chocolate mint candies (crumbled in small pieces)

lite whip cream

chocolate syrup or fudge

cook the brownies as they ask you to.  Make the

white chocolate pudding as the box requires.

Then when you have those made you get a glass

decorative bowl and start to layer your holiday delight.

first layer is brownies, then top with fudge (usually warm it a litte)

then add the white chocolate pudding, whip cream and the

chocolate mint candy that has been crumbled and add more fudge .  You keep layering and then you top it off with a light dusting of

Chocolate Cappuccino Truffle candy bar that you have grated.

This is the greatest dessert that everyone will love.

ENJOY!!  Happy Holidays Everyone:)  Luv ya, Pat and Darlene
